Homesteading 101

Get back to basics to raise your own food! Calling all aspiring homesteaders and learn the skills needed to make your dreams come true! We’ll cover gardening, cooking from the garden, preserving the harvest and some small livestock husbandry. This three night, 4 day event includes meals, lodging and all educational activities.

Gracious Accommodations

The focal point of Seed & Spoon is our post and beam barn. Natural materials throughout offer a rustic and refined aesthetic that is truly unique. Each of our beautiful suites have unique touches with plenty of space to stretch out. You’re also welcome to peruse our library and relax in the Sun Room or explore the property where you’ll find all kinds of beautiful gems.

  • All paired with curated wines and beverages.

Hands-on Learning.

  • Monday evening craft cocktails with a “homesteading basics” chat over a welcome dinner.
  • Tuesday garden & chicken sessions with Farm Manager Adam Buggy.
  • Afternoon preserving workshop with Culinary Director Tracy Hayhurst.
  • Wednesday evening cooking class will highlight “Cooking with your CSA Share”.

Field Trip. Thursday visit to Beavertides Farm in Falls Village with Dan Carr and Marleen Van Gulick where they’ll introduce you to their goats, sheep, apiary and family cow Georgie. Picnic brunch in the fields will follow. Inspiration guaranteed!

Goody bag. Take away tip sheets, guides and recipes from the weekend as well as a sweet treat to remember us by!

Extend Your Stay. Seed & Spoon is a great base to explore all the surrounding towns have to offer. Norfolk is a hidden gem filled with great hiking and culture and we are only about 30 minutes from Litchfield, Salisbury and Great Barrington and all the Berkshires.
